808 OHANA

REVOLUTION MUSIC

808 Ohana is a multigenerational family band and collective led by the husband-and-wife duo of artist and musician Petroglyph and acclaimed Hawaiian Reggae artist Maka. The "808" in their name represents their deep roots in Hawaii's area code, embodying native sounds, contemporary reggae tones, and ancestral voices. 808 Ohana's creative expression goes far beyond sound: Petroglyph’s striking visual art captures the raw power and ancient motifs of the islands, while the signature Huli wear clothing line translates this deep cultural identity and resistance into wearable art.

At the core of their music and mission is an unwavering dedication to the Hawaiian Kingdom and the preservation of its true history. Through their songs, art, and public platform, they advocate for the historical and ongoing continuity of the Hawaiian Kingdom as a sovereign country. 808 Ohana performs at major events like Lā Hoiʻhoʻi Ea and the annual ʻOnipaʻa Peace March, using their music and visual platforms to educate international audiences and honor the legacy of Queen Liliʻuokalani.

This advocacy expands into grassroots community outreach across the islands. Through their specialized music program, He Makana Aloha, 808 Ohana works to provide free music education, instruments, and community concerts to areas with limited access. Whether performing at benefit concerts for youth mentorship organizations like Boys to Men Mentoring Hawaiʻi or hosting free music camps, they focus their energy on uplifting the next generation and protecting the future keiki of Hawaiʻi.

Beyond our local shores, 808 Ohana Music serves as a vessel for cultural diplomacy, connecting through music, Petroglyph's visual pieces, and the Huli wear movement. Through projects like Maka's album Revolution and their collective family album Huli, their creative works are devoted to healing, integrity, and change.

"From our family table to the world stage, we invite you to explore our sounds, styles, and vision, and become a part of our musical and artistic ohana. " Maka
